Exeter City Defender Alex Hartridge Moves On: Heading to Wycombe Wanderers as Exeter Finishes Season in Fourth Place

Wycombe Acquires Defender Hartridge from Exeter

Exeter City defender Alex Hartridge said goodbye to fans during the team’s final home game in late April as he officially signed with Wycombe Wanderers on a contract of undisclosed length. The 25-year-old, who is a product of the Exeter City youth system, made his debut in November 2017 and went on to make 157 appearances for the club.

Hartridge was part of the team that secured promotion from League Two in 2022 and played in nearly all League One games the following season. However, he fell out of favor under manager Gary Caldwell, making only a few appearances towards the end of the season. He had already announced his intention to leave the club and will officially complete his move to Wycombe on July 1 pending approval from the EFL and FA.

Exeter finished four points behind Wycombe in the league standings this season, with Wycombe finishing 10th just missing out on a playoff spot.
