Hollidaysburg and Central High School Sports: Triumphant Tuesday Wins for Tennis and Baseball Teams

On Tuesday, the Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team improved to 5-0 with a hard-fought victory over Altoona. The Golden Tigers emerged victorious in a close match, winning 3-2. Hollidaysburg’s Luke Mitchell and Michael Waibel each earned singles wins, as did Altoona’s Garrett Bouchard and Alex Arbogast. In doubles play, Hollidaysburg’s Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer won, while Altoona’s Ben Johnson was defeated by Hollidaysburg’s Ben Johnson.

Meanwhile, in high school baseball, Central defeated Penns Valley 19-9 in six innings on Tuesday. Mason Byler picked up the win in relief for the Dragons, while Jay Hoenstine led the offense with three hits and four RBIs. Other contributors included Troy McNichol with three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger with three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko with two hits and three RBIs. Despite multiple errors on both sides, Central came out on top due to their strong offensive performances.

Overall, both Hollidaysburg in tennis and Central in baseball had successful outings on Tuesday. With strong individual performances and overall team efforts, both teams continue to demonstrate their skill and determination in their respective sports as they each seek to maintain their undefeated records.
