Jefferson Health and Lehigh Valley Health Network come to agreement on merger deal

Jefferson Health and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) have officially signed an agreement to merge, creating one of the largest health care systems in the country. The merger will result in a unified organization consisting of 30 hospitals in Eastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey, with over 700 sites employing more than 65,000 individuals. This makes it the largest employer in the greater Philadelphia region. Dr. Joseph G. Cacchione, CEO of Jefferson, stated in a joint press release that the merger will provide communities with access to high-quality care, continuous research and innovation, a network of specialists, clinical trials, and more.
