STAT launches fellowship for science reporting [in the United States]

A yearlong fellowship opportunity is available for aspiring science journalists from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in the United States. The Sharon Begley-Science Reporting Fellowship, offered by STAT, is designed to prepare journalists for a successful career in science journalism.

The fellowship will run from mid-July 2024 to mid-July 2025 and be based at STAT’s Boston office. Selected fellows will work alongside experienced science and health reporters and editors, reporting and writing articles for the publication.

In addition to gaining valuable experience and mentorship, fellows will receive a salary of $75,000, health insurance, 10 days of vacation, and standard holidays off.
