Suspicious package in Lower Macungie prompts business evacuation and road closures; Allentown Bomb Squad called in for assistance | Lehigh Valley Regional News

The report of a suspicious package at the 8600 block of Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township on Monday led to the evacuation of a business and the closure of a stretch of Route 100. Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky confirmed that the location of the package was at Ryder Logistics, which has been evacuated as a precaution.

Local roads, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, are being shut down to prevent access to the area. Captain John Christopher from the Allentown Fire Department reported that the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to Congdon Hill Drive to assist with the investigation by state police. The bomb squad arrived just before 2 p.m. on Monday.
