Unleashing the Potential of Young Scientists: Chatham Middle School’s Annual Science & Technology Fair”.

Local Announcements: Winners of the 2024 Science and Technology Fair in CMS

Chatham Middle School recently held its annual Science & Technology Fair, featuring projects from students in grades six through eight. The fair was open to the public in the evening and saw hundreds of attendees come out to view the impressive displays and learn more about the scientific and technological advancements being made by young minds.

The fair was judged by Chatham’s high school and middle school science and technology faculty during the day, with classes visiting to view the projects. Each student participating in the fair developed a hypothesis or technical problem and used either the Scientific Method or Problem Solving Method to test their theories or find solutions.

In the sixth grade, Miles Schuster investigated the impact of outside temperature on the efficiency of solar panels, while Jack Galvin studied which fruit or vegetable contained the most energy. The eighth-grade team of Lucy Tassinari and Logan Van Wie examined the effectiveness of various heat protectants.

Congratulations to all those who participated in this year’s Science & Technology Fair at Chatham Middle School! The dedication and hard work put into these projects are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing what these young scientists will achieve in years to come!
