Vaccination Clinics Offer Protection against Shingles: Hopewell and Wegmans Join Forces for Two Important Events

Health Department and Wegmans Partner to Host 2 Event

The Hopewell Township Health Department and Wegmans are partnering to host two shingles vaccine clinics at Pennington Borough Municipal Hall on April 17 and June 19, 2024. These clinics are designed to provide adults aged 50 and older with the opportunity to receive the recommended two doses of the shingles vaccine, protecting them against the disease and its complications. Additionally, individuals aged 19 and above with weakened immune systems are also advised to receive two doses of the vaccine due to their increased risk.

The clinics will be open to residents who want to sign up for one or both vaccines. It is important to note that those who only receive one dose at these clinics will need to visit Wegmans or another local pharmacy to obtain their second shot. For more information on the shingles vaccine and its benefits, please visit the CDC website at cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/shingles/.

These clinics are an excellent opportunity for residents of Hopewell Township and surrounding areas to protect themselves against shingles, a painful rash that can lead to serious complications in some cases. By getting vaccinated, individuals can reduce their risk of developing this debilitating disease and enjoy peace of mind knowing they are taking steps to stay healthy.
