X Smart TV Platform Mimics YouTube TV, Announces New Application to Compete with Google; Plans to Launch Long-Form Videos and Elevate its Position in Streaming Video Market

Elon Musk intends to transform X into a video platform akin to YouTube: the similarity is clear

The video playback platform for smart TV known as X has a user interface that closely resembles that of YouTube TV. The platform’s tabs include Home, Search, and Profile Pages, similar to YouTube TV’s. Elon Musk, the owner of X, has stated his intention to make the platform versatile by offering audio, video, messaging, and payment capabilities.

X is also preparing a new application for Amazon and Samsung smart TVs in an effort to compete with Google by providing similar functionalities. In addition to this new application, there are plans to launch long-form videos up to two hours in length to position itself in the streaming video platform sector. A source close to X revealed these plans.

A preview of the design of the new application was provided by an application researcher and web developer. The main interface includes a login screen, Home, Search, and Profile Pages tabs. The platform will offer both long-form videos and Shorts as well as filters for recommended content and trending videos.
